Operations Manager - Los Angeles, CA

The Operations Manager is a customer-centric role that is responsible for leading and motivating the sales operations team to provide fast, seamless order support and service. This position helps lead the team who sit at the intersection of revenue recognition, sales support, inventory management and operational coordination between the warehouse, freight carriers and other important partnerships. Successful candidates will have previous experience working with ERP systems, in the manufacturing, wholesale, or distribution environments, focusing on providing support to the internal sales department by becoming an expert in our systems, processes, and brand voice. You will set the tone in the operations department with great work ethic and cultivate a positive learning environment for your team. Energized by communication and collaboration, you will guide the roadmap for customer service and order management and look for opportunities to automate processes, build for scale, and reduce costs. You will lead communication and maintain good relationships with important freight vendors and warehouse partnerships. You have the proven ability to organize and balance day to day workload with higher level department projects & initiatives and effectively manage multiple tasks in an environment with competing demands. You love learning new things and are known for bringing innovative perspectives and questions to the table. You are deadline and results-driven, passionate about leading others and implementing best practices that help your internal partners and team do their best work.

Key Responsibilities

Team Management

  • Provide leadership, direction, and support to the sales operations team. Effective and positive leader.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert by keeping up with freight vendors, warehouse processes, international compliance, systems. Then, analyzing gaps, and implementing changes within the department that align with discoveries.
  • Support day to day workload on a contingency basis when team members are on leave or out of office.
  • Maintain process documents and department manuals.
  • Demonstrated commitment to customer satisfaction, including an appreciation for customer experience is required.
  • Comfortable to deliver and receive feedback, and highly self-aware.
  • Known to thrive in fast-paced environment and under a deadline.
  • Analytical, organizational, decision-making, problem-solving and written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Organized and productive work style; loves the feeling of getting things done.
  • Advanced skills working and reporting in Excel.
  • Inventory management & Inventory reporting.
  • Identifying and developing process improvements that support objectives to increase efficiency and productivity.
  • Experience with FedEx Ship Manager software, ERP, WMS and other systems.
  • Experience with exporting and international documentation compliance.
  • Experience working with 3PL Warehouse.
  • Open and excited to participating in adhoc projects.
  • Fluency in LTL shipping requirements vs common courier packaging guidelines.
  • Adhering to any special shipping requirements or guidelines to our wholesale partners and/or customers.
  • Define sample fulfillment processes that scale with volume.
  • Create and manage style offboarding phases.

AdHoc Projects

  • Known to thrive in fast-paced environment and under a deadline.
  • Experience in researching a new subject matter to the company.
  • Loves to consolidate information and present discoveries, as a first phase to a new initiative.
  • Is a self-starter who is comfortable creating their own road map to a project by understanding the end goal or intention.
  • Professionally curious and excited about learning about new matters or solutions that improve company workflows.
  • Compare sample freight costs and create easy user guides for outside departments to adhere by.
  • FedEx portal user management.
  • Research new international warehouse facilities.
  • Explore ways to quantify international duties and taxes to the customer transaction at point of sale.
  • Begin research and pricing comparison for domestic 3PL partnerships.
  • Contribute to requirements research for company ERP upgrade initiative.
  • Explore new LTL freight partnerships and help standardize pricing for high volume territories.
