Introducing Our Adelaide Atelier
Armadillo is proud to announce our newest atelier at Terrace Floors in Adelaide. The opening of our eighth location worldwide is poignant as it marks Armadillo’s return to the city that our co-founders both call home.

Since 2009, Jodie Fried and Sally Pottharst have been dedicated to creating rugs that balance sustainable craftsmanship with timeless design. The Adelaide atelier is a homecoming of sorts and an exciting partnership with Terrace Floors, South Australia’s leading design destination for the past 25 years.
“Jodie and I have always considered Adelaide home, so opening this atelier is a full-circle moment for us,” says Sally. “Over the years we have cultivated exceptional relationships with the city’s most visionary architects and interior designers. It feels fitting that we now have our own space to service the local design community directly.”
The new Armadillo space within Terrace Floors is situated centrally near the city’s lush parklands. “The atelier format reflects our considered approach to curating spaces in dynamic design locales,” says Jodie. “These intimate, refined settings enable design professionals and design enthusiasts alike to fully immerse themselves in our brand and engage with our collection at their own pace.”
To ensure the site reflected the artisanal craftsmanship of its rugs, Armadillo turned to longtime collaborator Studio Goss, who previously worked on the brand’s showrooms in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, and Dallas. Architect David Goss elevated the fit-out with a material palette of natural timber, solid brass and blackened steel that layered in Armadillo’s international lens on design and aligned with its ethos of quality and sustainability.
Open Monday to Saturday, with no appointment necessary, our Adelaide atelier has an inviting atmosphere that brings together globally minded design and local heritage.
