Head of Trade Sales

Reporting to the President, we are seeking an experienced Head of Trade Sales to develop and implement strategies to drive Trade sales while providing direct management and mentorship to the existing and growing Trade team. The successful candidate will work from our NYC showroom. Travel within the US is required as well as infrequent travel to our flagship in LA.

  • Strong analytical skills to drive sales strategy.
  • High levels of personal initiative to get things done without waiting to be instructed and thinking of new ways to approach projects/tasks.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading and developing high-performing sales teams.
  • Deep understanding of US interior designers and market trends.
  • Team player – always thinking about the bigger picture and how to achieve a better result by working as a team collaboratively.
  • Willingness to travel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strong leadership and development of Account Managers in line with company values.
  • Developing and executing sales strategies to keep the company competitive, innovative and expand our customer base.
  • Overseeing and direct management of the Trade Sales Team, consisting of 15 members, to see them reach their goals – support, coach and mentor.
  • Monitor and analyze sales performance, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of the company’s product offerings and the competitive landscape.
  • Collaborate with Senior Leadership Team to develop and implement practical plans for the company’s operational infrastructure. This includes optimizing systems, processes, and personnel management to support the company’s growth goals effectively.
  • Serve as a point of contact for high-value trade accounts, resolving any issues and ensuring satisfaction.
  • Travel to visit trade account managers across various regions to shadow them, providing on-the-ground support and guidance.
  • Evaluate field activities and provide actionable insights to improve sales performance.
  • Foster a success-oriented, accountable environment within the team you are managing.
